Course Title
Seal, Coat, and Bond: A Foundation for Masterful Outcomes and Stress-Free Ceramic Success
Speaker: Greg Campbell DDS
About the Course
Unlock the full potential of adhesive dentistry by mastering The Hybridized Foundation. This course redefines the restorative workflow, beginning with the critical rationale for Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) and Resin Coating. We will demonstrate how these protocols transform the dentin interface, increasing bond strengths to levels that rival enamel while virtually eliminating postoperative sensitivity.
Participants will gain a deep understanding of Gold Standard adhesive protocols used for maximum predictability, while also critically evaluating the single-bottle universal adhesives that currently dominate 50% of the clinical market. Moving into the delivery phase, we provide a clear, evidence-based roadmap for substrate management, including the exact chemistry required to decontaminate and “prime” glass-ceramics and zirconia after try-in. Finally, we simplify the cementation process by featuring the latest advancements in dual-monomer self-adhesive resin cements. We will showcase how integrated MDP and Silane technologies provide a stress-free, streamlined solution for long-term bonding success to both lithium disilicate and zirconia restorations.
Course Objectives
- Define the clinical rationale for Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) and Resin Coating, evaluating the scientific literature regarding the optimization of dentin bond strengths.
- Demonstrate the step-by-step clinical sequence for establishing a stabilized hybrid layer immediately following tooth preparation.
- Compare the chemistry and clinical efficacy of Gold Standard adhesive systems versus the single-bottle universal systems currently used in modern restorative practices.
- Determine the appropriate decontamination protocols for glass-ceramics and zirconia after salivary contamination to ensure maximum adhesive integrity.
- Implement a streamlined delivery protocol using advanced self-adhesive resin cements with integrated MDP and Silane technology for predictable bonding to multiple substrates.
About the Speaker

A prolific educator, Dr. Campbell has presented advanced adhesion for the Seattle Study Club and introduced cutting-edge ceramic bonding protocols at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. His 37-year tenure in private practice, combined with his role as an “Alpha and Beta” tester for emerging chairside materials, allows him to bridge the gap between high-level theory and real-world clinical success.
Dr. Campbell is one of only eleven advanced CEREC trainers in North America and has authored two definitive books on CAD/CAM dentistry. His recent publications in the ADA Journal, Compendium, and Dental Products Report reflect his commitment to evidence-based excellence. In this course, Dr. Campbell leverages his deep scientific background to demystify Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) and Resin Coating, providing clinicians with a “Gold Standard” roadmap for predictable, stress-free ceramic success.
