COURSE DESCRIPTION
Reasonable and realistic goals of any bonded ceramic procedure include patient acceptance, patient comfort, and efficiency of delivery, however these objectives are just a portion of a successful service. Restoration longevity through the avoidance of stained margins, chipping and fractures are the long term and less predicable outcomes we face with bonded ceramics. In this lecture, Dr. Richard Stevenson will present techniques to improve the longevity of bonded ceramic restorations through the application of sound techniques with respect to materials, tooth structure, preparation design and occlusion, with the ultimate goal of Esthetic Durability.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Understand how to improve the long term marginal seal with bonded ceramics
- Understand how to minimize restoration fractures through optimal preparation principles
- Understand how to adjust occlusion on ceramic restorations to harmonize with the patient’s function
- Understand the importance of finishing and polishing ceramics and the methods for each material
